Which is better, EP1 or EP2??
Both were, in my opinion, released incredibly late to be classed as true 'episodic' gaming, but we have them and they have proved to be very popular and successful. Episode 1 was a fantastic intense continuation of the HL2 saga, and Episode 2 was much vaunted for it's large outside playing areas and stunning set pieces. Which of the two do you think was 'best'?

EP2 for me. It had the Charger for starters.
![]() I liked some of the changes in EP2, like the flashlight being separate from the suit's aux power. The graphics seemed to be beefed up a bit too. Did you find this small hidden room in reference to Lost? I've never watched Lost so I wouldn't have caught on even if I did find it. Is it any good? It it uses Half Life references then I'm probably going to start watching it. |

Ep1 or Ep2?
EP1, Pros:
Fun puzzles Barney Alyx is less annoying and actually helps Zombine Cool Strider Battle Ep1, Cons: Too cramped inside the citidal if you ask me, but i guess it was asploding Antlion puzzles Alyx dieing constantly in that one part on hard ![]() Alyx very bad sniping abilities Ep2, Pros: Improved graphics flashlight seperate Shotgun combine soldier new antlions were cool Alyxs good sniping ability Hunters, like mini-bosses that gave you a challange Jalopy Gman scene TWIST ENDING! Ep2, Cons: Too much HDR/bloom Antlion section was too long NPC encounters, which actually had a whole chapter of talking Alyx being more of a nuiscence than a helper, but not dieing as much. No barney TWIST ENDING lamarr in space ![]()

I knew you come straight to this part of the forum!
Heh, you're right though, they do both have completely different feels; one's mostly claustrophobic close quarters in the Citadel or the city whereas the other is outside in the woods and the open roads and that.
