THE CONTEST
Left 4 Dead News in conjunction with L4Dforums.com is running a competition for you to win a copy of Left 4 Dead. In order to enter you need to register at L4Dforums and submit your story in the Zombie Fiction Contest subforum. This is the only place entires will be accepted.

THE RULES
1) Your entry must be your own work. Entries borrowed or stolen from other sources, be they other fan fiction writers or other sources will be disqualified.
2) Your entry must be in the region of 1000 to 3000 words.
3) Your entry must be submitted by the (TBC) competition closing date. This will be confirmed once a release date for the game is confirmed.
4) The story must be zombie related but does not have to be set in the Left 4 Dead universe. If you are unclear on what constitutes a Zombie (why the hell are you reading this??) Please see this for details.
5) Must be unique to the contest. We will not be accepting entries that you have written and submitted or published elsewhere.
6) You may enter more than one story to the competition but each must be individual. i.e. no part 1, part 2, part 3 etc)
7) The winner will be decided by the staff of L4Dforums.

One copy of Left 4 Dead for PC delivered by Steam on release date.
Publication of your story on left4deadnews.com.
The envy of all your friends and the curses of all your enemies.

I have a question about the contest. Are the stories going to be judged at one point in time or are they considered "judged" as you turn them in? If it's the latter, then it would seem unfair to the people who post stories sooner than later because their writing would be forgotten...

When the deadline is reached...all of them are going to be turned in. Also they are not judged by us.

Good question, to which the answer is.... [Drum roll.]

They'll all be judged when the deadline (yet to be announced, DT will decide once a release date for L4D is confrimed).

We aren't judging them as they come. Well, we're reading them (at least I am, can't speak for the other staff) but we won't judge them until the deadline.

Guys, Thanks im making me a novel. Not Only Will >>I<< win L4D lol i am going to try to get it published. so far this is what i got the name of the book is "life after death" and sofar i have 2 chapters and 774 words and not near 1/10 of the way done wish me luck : )

Do the entries HAVE to be within these limits? I'm not trying to play a unfair game, but Zomb0s' story has more than 3000 words. Just a little bit. You see, I want to know if you're strictly enforcing this aspect, because my story is coming on to 2,100 and is about %60 percent done. The finished will have a guesstimate of around 3,400.
